Important Measurement Notice

True Scale Ruler is a free educational, maker, and utility tool. While calibrated display measurements achieve high physical accuracy, the tool is not certified for safety-critical engineering, aviation, surgical, or high-liability manufacturing where legal calibration standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 17025) are strictly mandated.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and utilizing True Scale Ruler (https://truescaleruler.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, please discontinue using the website.

2. Permitted Use & License

True Scale Ruler provides free browser-based measurement tools (online ruler, sliding calipers, protractor, ring sizer, and 2D box area calculator). You are granted a revocable, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use these tools for personal, educational, commercial crafting, design, and workshop purposes.

3. Measurement Accuracy & Screen Calibration Disclaimer

Please review the physical operating principles of digital screen measurement:

Hardware Variances: Web browsers do not inherently know the physical millimeter dimensions of monitor displays. Screen accuracy depends entirely on accurate user calibration via physical reference objects (e.g., standard credit card or monitor diagonal specification).
Protective Films & Glass Distortion: Curved screen edges, thick tempered glass screen protectors, display aspect-ratio adjustments, and browser zoom levels (which should remain at 100%) can affect millimeter fidelity.
Contact Safety: While our Lock button freezes on-screen controls for placing objects against touchscreens, users are solely responsible for ensuring that sharp, abrasive, or heavy items do not scratch or damage their device display glass.
No Professional Certification: True Scale Ruler does not replace certified precision micrometers or laboratory-grade vernier calipers in regulated scientific environments.

4. Intellectual Property

The code architecture, visual user interface, branding logo, interactive algorithms, and graphic assets comprising True Scale Ruler are protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. Unauthorized duplication of branding or packaging as commercial closed-source software without permission is prohibited.

5. Service Availability & Modifications

We strive to maintain 99.9% availability of True Scale Ruler and provide full offline caching through Progressive Web App (PWA) standards. However, the service is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind. We reserve the right to improve, modify, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, True Scale Ruler, its creators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use or inability to use this service, including but not limited to material cutting errors, inaccurate jewelry sizing, or hardware damage.
